Timbre 2
In this unit, students will continue to develop their foundation for musical learning by reviewing instrument families and timbre before adding new concepts in sound production and vocal registers. Students will identify and perform with altered instruments. Students will expand their timbre knowledge by discovering instruments outside of the orchestral and symphonic band standards including sampled sounds, electronic instruments, and vegetables as instruments.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this Unit, students will be able to:
- Describe how sound is produced on a variety of instruments
- Identify the textures of different vocal registers
